Services

The Maternity Center offers private LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) rooms allowing all of your care to occur in the same room.

Each expectant mother has her own thoughts about childbirth. She knows pregnancy and childbirth are among the most memorable events in her lifetime. Our goal is to help you have a positive experience.

Our competent nurses will assist you with birthing techniques to help you throughout labor. You may choose to use the birthing ball, rock in the rocking chair, or simply walk...allowing movement to facilitate the laboring process through natural positioning. We will assist you with breathing and position changes if you desire an unmedicated, “natural” labor. We may recommend medications given intravenously or call on our excellent anesthesia staff to provide an epidural. We want you to know, you have choices!

We encourage your baby to remain with you as much as possible during your stay, but a nursery is available if needed. A nurse is always available to assist you and answer questions throughout your stay. An internationally board-certified lactation consultant is on staff as well to assist you with breast feeding concerns. We also welcome you to call with any questions you may have after your stay. Room service from the Adams Cafe is available between 6:30am and 6:30pm so you may order what you want when you want it! New moms and dads also enjoy a “celebration meal” during their stay.

Visitors Information

A support person is welcome at all times. We welcome siblings, grandparents, and other visitors between the hours of 10:30am and 8:30pm. Everyone visiting babies should wash their hands prior to holding or touching the new baby. Please note that NO ONE with a fever or any symptoms of
infection should visit with a new family. Visitors should wait in designated areas when asked to step out of a room. Adams Memorial Hospital reserves the right to limit visitors if necessary for quality care and the safety of our patients.
