Adams Memorial Hospital opened its doors July 30, 1923, providing medical excellence to the residents of Adams County.
Adams Memorial is a 25-bed critical access hospital providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care the meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients. Adams Memorial Hospital offers Acute Care services (Medical/Surgical/ICU), Inpatient and Ambulatory Surgery as well as Orthopaedic surgery, Cardiopulmonary care including Sleep Studies, Laboratory services, Comprehensive Radiology Services including MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasound, Mammorgraphy, and Bone Density Testing. Adams Memorial also offers a 24-hour Emergency Department, Adams County EMS, StatCare (an after hours urgent care clinic), Corporate Medical Services (an industrial based clinic).
In addition, Adams Memorial offers Behavioral Health Service (Inpatient and Outpatient Services), an Anti-coagulation/Coumadin Clinic, a Diabetes Clinic, the Worthman Fitness Center, a Second to none Maternity Center, and the Strickler Cancer Institute.
Adams Memorial Hospital employs 500 employees and has three full-time Emergency Department physicians.
Adams Memorial Hospital believes in a horizontal integration of healthcare delivery. Adams Memorial Hospital strives to provide excellent health care to individuals from the time of birth through the end stages of life. To fulfill this vision, Adams Memorial Hospital purchased a nursing home facility in 1988. In 1993 Woodcrest Retirement Community was constructed. Evergreen Court Assisted Living Apartments joined the Woodcrest Community with its opening in 1996. The latest addition to the AMH organization is The Village of Heritage nursing facility, which opened in 2000, and is located in Monroeville, IN.
Today, we enjoy a new healthcare facility located at 1100 Mercer Avenue which opened in July 2005. The new facility continues to offer services for every stage in life. Adams Memorial Hospital is committed to caring for our Community’s healthcare needs.
